Just a crazy obsevation, when done right, it feels as if the water has turned into a solid kinda like non-newtonian fluid.

    Just my 2 cents...
Kinetic + potential IN = kinetic + potential OUT

Just ask wave surfers who use in essence zero personal KE to travel long distances.

So prior to the wave converting its KE to PE, can the KE be harvested to provide ship propulsion?

Everybody knows here the higher the speed, the increased resistance. I just like to help, sorry.
I have a better idea, sell your paddles to an helicopter factory if I wrong.

LMAO@self !! Big error in calcs and one measurement....

measurement of pushing force at 18" point on fulcrum is better estimated at 50lbs after visiting the gym to self calibrate.

I'll leave the intermediate calcs up to you... but original parameters gave ~54% eff...with new pushing force number is closer to ~81% according to my revised calcs

Here is a link to interesting reading...

I wonder how it would work if you put some actual swim fins on the oars instead of your flappers. Maybe have multiple sets all across the bottom.

Cover the whole bottom and make some linkage so when you were pumping the oars the fins would work sequentially and work off each other, kind of like how a snake or eel moves along.

A note for the original poster: I think Jeremy has told you, your patent lawyer should have told you, now I'll tell you that you have put your idea here in the public domain, so you can't receive a patent for it.
I made the same mistake years ago when I took an idea to an invention show and displayed a big poster of my patent application drawings.
