I am going to build a Jon Boat for my son and I to fish on and bow-fish with. I like the plans on Duckworks http://www.duckworksbbs.com/plans/jim/jonsboat/index.htm

Any other good plans out there?

I am now trying to figure out what wood to buy and how to finish it. I would love to have it cleared to show the wood. I love the natural look of wood but I don't know how much difficulty that adds? Or what to use? From what I have read It would not be advised to glass the whole bottom for a boat that will be kept on a trailer?? Is that correct?

Any advise for a newbie builder?

Thanks so much for the help.
