Fiberglass over wooden deck

    Par, if one wanted to keep the transparency of a resin coating to let the grain of the wood show through, can epoxy be adequately treated to avoid UV damage?

    Yes, epoxy coatings can be brightly finished with the usually suspects, shellac, varnish, polyurethane varnish or LPU clear coat. If the wood is 'glassed, then the fabric needs to be 4 ounce or less other wise the weave will show in some light conditions. This effect is more pronounced as the fabric weight increases. 6 ounce cloth is just barely visible for example.
