Rebuilding Europe to self draining

Got this old Europe hull from the local club and planning to rebuild it to a Lowrider Moth with self draining cockpit.

Have done a few sketches and collected them into a single image.

I already have all the material needed.

The deck sides where the new floor sits are vertical.

Will of course remove all of the old GRP deck below the new floor.

Please propose changes to make the rebuild easier and more straightforward?

 

You plan to drain through the transom?


The scuppers in the transom of my Windmill are covered in a plastic flap held closed by a bungee. Water doesn't come in, but can be drained when heel and speed allow.

Because your cockpit sole is so close to the waterline, you may get water coming in when heeling and full crew aboard, if you don't locate the scuppers well or put in a valve of some sort.

The transom will be completely open as shown in the sketch down to the left. No prob to raise the floor more if needed, but as it is sloping, it will probably not be needed.
