I am picking up a thermoking Isuzu diesel 2.2 engine to maranize and see that most have built the wet exhaust out of steel. Is stainless better for this or do you use steel due to ease of welding? What would be the ideal material to use? I can tig stainless, alum, or steel. This will be used mostly in fresh water and possibly some in salt water.

Most of the stainless manifolds I have repaired have been paper thin and always cracked.

I have a Isuzu C240 ready to go less transmission if that's easier for you?
