Hi everyone, this is a shameless plug for my new Rhino3D plugin called ExcelWorks.

Borne of necessity after years of frustration attempting to get an Excel table into Rhino. The process seemed to require screenshots, PDF conversions, Illustrator, CSV files, or a custom Grasshopper definition. Even then, the result was often difficult to edit or had lost much of the original formatting.
I regularly needed Excel data in Rhino, so eventually I decided to build the solution I wished already existed.

It’s called ExcelWorks for Rhino. It lets you select a range in Excel and bring it directly into Rhino as native geometry, including displayed values, fills, borders, merged cells, alignment, and the original row and column proportions. The table is created as a block and remains linked, so when the spreadsheet changes, you can update the existing table instead of rebuilding it. Your Excel spreadsheet will be recreated using native Rhino geometry & displayed EXACTLY as you have it formatted in Excel.
Since the Plugin recreates the excel file using native Rhino geometry there are no embedded images, no broken links and you can send your Rhino .3dm files off to third parties and they read the drawings without having the plugin installed.

The real advantage comes when spreadsheet data changes. Rather than deleting the old table and starting again, ExcelWorks can update the existing linked block while keeping its location and scale in the Rhino document. Links can also be redefined, managed or removed through the ExcelWorks panel.

ExcelWorks is intended for designers, naval architects, engineers, fabricators and anyone who regularly transfers schedules, specifications, parts lists, calculations or other tabular information into Rhino.

Getting Started
Excelworks can be installed through the Rhino Package Manager by searching for ExcelWorks.
In the Rhino command line type "packagemanager" and enter. Then search for ExcelWorks in the search box and click install. Restart Rhino after installation and you are away.

ExcelWorks exposes a new command called "ExcelWorks" which opens up Excelworks UI panel.
