Recently there was a discussion at Panbo.com about electronically compensating wind istruments for masts rotation. I know that there have been some traditional approaches with mast rotation sensors, but I'm stuck with the idea that for masts over 50' in length, there might still be a simple mechanical solution for keeping a wind sensor oriented with the vessel's centerline.

I have attached sketches of two ideas, and would like to hear critical comment.
