gauge driving me crazy

    gasgauge reading half when empty,changed sending unit twice ,ran new ground ,doing same thing,peged gauge,goes from e to f,removed pink from sending unit ,goes to e.boat calls for 9 inch unit,can only get 8 inch,dealer tells me this is all right,and I will allways have a little extra gas in tank.Thanks in advance

    Too much variation in the supply voltage.
    Install a voltage regulator, then adjust for empty reading with still some fuel left.

    Try running a separate neutral wire to a good ground while fiddling with it. Make sure the gage is for the correct voltage system.

    The voltage regulator in the gauge may be defective.

    Yep, test the gauge, it's simple.

    Get rid of the gauge and simply dip the tank.
