    i have a 2strock outboard 1994 envirude 8.o engine,,

it seems to run fine, but without pulling the choke, when i pull it the enjine cuts off.....

is it something i need to worry about or i can keep running the engine Choke off?

I'm not sure what you are saying.

Choke is used for cold start only, once it starts-turn off the choke.

ok i guess i don't need the choke then, sorry for my ignorance,
the engine has not been started in 3 years, i thought i needed to have the choke open in order to start it.

    thank you for your answer!

Typically the problems associated with a choke are the other way around, where you have to use it, just to keep the boat running (not good BTW). Yours seems to be functioning properly, as a choke applied to a warm engine will kill it pretty quickly.
