    hello every one.
for your information only, EEDI and Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan(SEEMP) have been adopted by the IMO at the last MEPC meeting from 11-15th July, 2011.
EEDI is expected to enter into force on 1 January 2013. New ships, building contract as from 1st January 2013 and delivery not later than 30 June 2015, are included under this regulation by IMO. The regulations will apply to all new ships of 400 gross tonnage or more. With regard to tankers, the Regulation applies to tankers of 4,000 dwt and above.
At present, the types of ship that are included in the current EEDI formulation by IMO are: oil and gas tankers, bulk carriers, general cargo vessels, and refrigerated cargo carriers and containers ships. For other ship types, formulation will be developed to cover all ship types and propulsion system.
SEEMP has been adopted as a mendatory requirement for all new and existing ship.

I suppose the next order of business is to establish the exemption process and set fees for such exemptions.
