Control box conversion?

Can I convert a side mount box to top mount for 1990 Suzuki super 6 150hp 2 stroke? I can't find anything that works with model that old. Also, don't know the proper terminology to use for a more specific search. Please share as much detail and explanations about this topic as you are willing to type. I would read a book about it if it would help. Thanks.

 

There should be no problem. If you buy an aftermarket top mount, it should have universal connectors. The cables may need to be longer depending on where you install it.

 

That's great news. Length should be the same. Just moving the helm to the center and top mount looks better IMO. If longer cables are required are those specific to my engine brand?

 

Teleflex/Morse make generic cables. They come with a kit that screws on the ends and fits any box.
