Electric power boat

    hey guys

    Finally I've decided to spent some money and start a garage project.
    I want to make small electric powerboat for one person (~25 mph or more) but I'm not good in electrics so I need some help, what dc motor should I use, what battery? lets say for 4-5 hours of running? boat weight about 70 lbs my weight ~140......... ok it will be in test day i promise .

    You want to go 25mph? for 4 hours? 100miles?
    If you could do that at 25kW (about 18bhp) you would use all the energy in the very latest Tesla car battery. The battery alone would weigh more than your boat could support. Impossible.

    Error! Not spotted by anyone else? In the post above I should have said that 25kW is about 33bhp - got my conversion wrong way round.... and can't edit it.

    Off the top of my head
    Go to Torqeedo
    get an =9.9Hp I'm guessing tiller short shaft with a planning prop
    get a couple of Battery paks - charger
    plug and play
