Yup a Donzi with cuddy cabin maybe 30 feet with 3 275 HP motors. I could not hear them running, I thought there was some kind of cooler circuit cooling the motors, but no all 3 engines were running.

The noisiest bit was the pissers making a noise into the water, UNBELEIVABLE.

    22,000 dollars here.

I believe what you were seeing are Mercury Verado 275's. 6 cylinder 4 cycle supercharged (yes, supercharged) outboards.

They are indeed pretty quiet and pretty awesome too. And they also make them in 300's

The Ferry to the outer islands had 300 HP that stopped for a while .They could not keep the right hand motor in gear boxes. I suggested they turn down the rev limiter to 4800 as that was the cruising RPM on all 5 engines.

    There are also electronic selection.

Engines such as this are better than Veagra for me but not for the man in the street.

I don't know I thought about that , there is no bubbles --nothing

If you took the power head off you would be able to pick it up and walk with it, I think.

How many 300HP engine do you know that you can carry?

about a zillion years ago I had one of the first Merc 225 motors (V6 2stroke) that came into South Africa

"election" love you all nite long every day
gawd it was beautifull long long ago
in my late 20's with the meanest mother fooooker motor in town
and today I would not be able to afford one hours of fuel the way we carried on

Yes me too ive spent hours behind 225 but fuel was cheap in the middle east.

I bought a reject boat from a fibre glass yard. The metal flake was so aggressive it protruded from the surface in places so was sold off cheap --to me, I considered it non slip.

It has a plaque on the transom suggesting 80HP. I thought thats a big boat for 80hp so I put a 225 on it.

With a 19 it would pull a good barefoot for beach starts and a six man pyramid.

The clubs Master craft broke down just as the British water ski team arrived so they used that. They dont normally use outboards but they liked it.

PS mannie--you would find it easier with your hand grasp one under and over and tighter into your body.

Frosty, that picture of Manie is at least 50 years old and a distant memory of the man today....heck, he even had some hair then:D:D

But, I would give my upper dentures to see him pull off that barefoot thing today even with the hand thing you suggest :)

The Verado 275 weighs 635, 649, or 667 lbs without the steering assembly or prop (varies with 20", 25", or 30" shaft). I think it would be difficult to pick it up by hand.
