draggers eastern seaboard

does anyone know who designs and builds 30 to 70 ft fishing boats for the east coast, maybe with stabilisers, thank you

 

What east coast specifically?

 

The less than stable Easterners?

Or perhaps the eastern Europeans?

 

usa and 100 ft draggers

 

Nobody recently in that size in the USA, as the east coast fisheries have been flat on their face for a while or at least the small ones

The bigger draggers and scallopers are built in the gulf. Eastern, steiner and master have done some recently, I think jemison is still current. Been a lot of changeover with storms, industries collapses and a cohort of owners ageing out over the last decade.

I think the gulf shipyards in pascaluga and Bayou La Batre have predominantly made offshore lobster boats and scallop boats for the fishing fleets of the East Coast. The dragging that's left is predominantly done by boats built in the late seventies and early '80s which is basically the last time East Coast Fisheries were profitable enough to pay for something new.

Outside the United States most the fishing construction occurs in Turkey to Norwegian or Brittany designs although some is made locally in France. There's a bunch of small trawlers still made in Great Britain but they're predominantly the under 10 meter.
