The Marketplace Forums can be useful for members who know one another well from forum discussions and offline communications and wish to post boatbuilding tools, drafting tools, molds and tooling, and other professional equipment for sale or trade. However, caution and good judgement should always be used. Especially when considering any business with anyone not already well known to you and trusted, due diligence must be used to confirm details and identity and be sure the transaction is safe before any money or property changes hands. Always use good judgement and perform due dilligence and follow these guidelines.

    Hi,

    I have about 850 lengths @ 5.4m of 91x11mm DAR Finger Joint Hoop Pine for sale, ie approximately 4,600 m linear or 420M2. Located Redland Bay QLD.

    It is a comparable core material to WRC and has been used by professional buiders with a west system;

    Boatcraft Pacific say "Hoop Pine is an Australian native pine tree. Araucaria cunninghamii (which is also often called the Moreton Bay Pine) is native to the rainforests of northern NSW and southern Queensland. Hoop Pine also occurs in the mountain regions of Papua New Guinea. It is almost identical to Klinki Pine, a tree native to PNG although its density is a little higher. The trees can grow to 60 metres high, and can live for up to 450 years. At maturity, the seed cones release nut like seeds which are said to be edible. According to "Wood In Australia" by Keith R Bootle, hoop pine texture is very even, gain is straight and growth rings are inconspicuous. It has a green density of 680kg/m3 and an air dry density of about 530kg/m3. It is easy to work, but it does not steam bend satisfactorily. Hoop Pine takes glue well."

    I'm interested in offers for the lot or reasonable parts, ie 1/4, 1/3 or 1/2.

    Regards

    Will
