Has anyone looked at Siemens new siship ecoprop. Thinking it would be pretty great for the 60'-70' live-aboard trawler that Im dreaming about. Are there any better hybrid solutions? Also, can you hide the weight of the batteries by using them as ballast? If you have a design for conventional diesel drive would it be much trouble for the designer to replace with the siship ecoprop?

There is a "Nordhavn" afloat which is equipped with SISHIP. I think "Passagemaker" magazine had a report.
    but:

It is not easy to decide if there are "better" hybrid solutions. It depends very much on your average Hotel load.
From a commercial point of view that is not the solution. A CPP installation is far cheaper.

For a new design Diesel el. would be much easier for the designer due to the freedom to place the genny´s.
