Rustiest running car/truck in the forum contest........my entry.

I was driving this up until a couple of weeks ago, a zebra striped 1990 Geo Tracker. I think that if the forum had a contest for rustiest car on the road, this would win. I don't know what was holding the front shock towers on to the car. The final stake to the heart was the large hole under the main fuse block near the battery, road salt got to the electrical system and that was it.

See photos IMG7474 thru IMG7526 in my photobucket account.

Pulled the battery for this shot, you can see the front passenger side tire below.

Bad exhaust leak at the manifold, bad brake line leak, bad throw out bearing, bad short which I thawrted for a few months by jiggling the wiring harness, bad rust including shot floor boards.

She ran strong up until the end, I got my monies worth, purchased new for $11,054.00 in June 1990, died on safari February 2009 - RIP.

The duct tape was to keep carbon monoxide out, it didn't work - fiberglass work in that area lasted five years before failure.

Michigan = Road salt. Same in Maine. My '92 Toyota pickup isn't that bad, but one day...
    It's sad, very sad.
Nice rocker panel repair job, any case. Simple but ineffective.
