Ok I have some plans of a boat 5.3 bass design, what I would like to know is at the bow the side height starts at 790mm and go's down to 585 at the transom,
What I want to know is would it change the structure if I was to maintain the 790 from front to rear ?

High bow usually helps to break the oncoming wave as in rough weather boats usually face waves. Of course you may use the same height, but will it look good?

If you raise the sides, the boat will not look as boaty. The more important reasons for leaving it according to the plans. is that it will become heavier and it will be more affected by windage. Not good for a bass boat. If the boat is to be outboard powererd, you must keep in mind the height of the transom so that it will marry well with the engine.

Tell us why you might want to carry the height all the way to the transom.

I think the issue would be aesthetic. The boat might look like a fat man with his trousers pulled up to high.

Also consider any extra weight that will be concentrated aft when you pull his trousers up...it might affect the self bailing cockpit of the boat.

Great thanks for the feed back, I was just after a bit more height in the side so I can have more of a side to lean on. But I think I will just add a little more to the height along so it still tappers down to the bow.
