Very broad question, are you talking engine, transmission, shafting, or propulsor. Almost everything is designed by technical experts, mostly using special software, a lot of it developed by the manufacturer and propritary. What you will find on the net is application guides. I.e. select your engine and propulsor, and your transmission vendor will tell you what transmission and shafting to use. To work it all up by yourself takes knowledgable experience. Unless you want to spend years getting that, you normally hire it.

Some more detail on what you want, i.e. busniess startup, class assignment, design study, etc. will be helpful, but selecting a prime mover for a particular application is not a matter of plug-and-chug in off the shelf software.
