    Hello,
Hope I am posting this in the appropriate section.

I am working on a Laguna Windrose 18. Doing an interior restoration and trailer rehab.

While servicing hubs, I noticed severe spindle shaft damage so I am replacing the axle.

I have looked and looked and cannot find the weight. I know the displacement is 1500#, the keel is 440#. Does anyone know the weight of boat? Do I need to add the weight of the trailer when ordering axle??

Also: It has a drop axle to allow for retractable keel clearance (the axle is mounted ON TOP of the leaf springs). Can I use a straight axle and mount BELOW the leaf springs?

    Any input greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
