CycleBoat Design need

Looking to have a design for a cycle boat, with paddle wheel, for about 14 to 16 people on.
Width: 7 ft, Length: 19 ft,. For 14 passenger and two additional crew, small passenger vessel for commercial use, "for hire", by cost guard regulations. For salt water.

PM me. There are some protected locations where that may be allowed under "water taxi" or similar rules. It should not be too complicated if the rules allow it.

You should contact your local USCG District office and talk to the folks who are involved with inspecting new boats about what rules have to be met. My understanding is boats in the US carrying 6 passengers or less for hire only need to meet basic equipment requirements such as PFDs, navigation lights, fire extinguishers, etc. (Over 100 registered tonnes the limit is 12 passengers for hire.) More than 6 passengers and the boat needs to be "inspected" and meet various requirements including stability and construction.

Where did those dimensions come from? It would be difficult to meet the USCG recreational boat rules with 16 passengers in a 19 x 7 foot boat. I assume the commercial rules would be at least as stringent.

 

looking to be able to load in a 20 FT container, however we can increase the length, to fit in to 40 F container. however I want to keep the with 7 foots.

 

Would the passengers be pedaling or only the crew?

Without more information it is difficult to envision what you want.

Stability may be an issue with a maximum beam of 7 feet and the passengers sitting high enough to pedal similar to the Portland BrewBarge.

Perhaps you should consider a wider pontoon boat, similar to the one in Portland, which can be disassembled and packed into a container.

Bearing in mind that you needa paddle wheel in the center and that the maximum load, 14 people (1100 kg), is not very large, it might be worth considering a catamaran (two pontoons) with the deck between hulls removable. The boat would be transportable and there would be no stability problems.

 

Yes, it has to be CATAMARAN, however just one deck, 14 passengers plus 2 crew members.

 

Can you give a rough budget guideline for the cost of the vessel. I understand that degining it accurately at this point is hard but fo you see a

We want to manufacture more cycle boats, and we looking to get each one for about 30 K, however the design should be extra,
