What ever happened to WW II flame throwers??????????????Wonderful weapom.
Used it in Nam too. Aim that at nearby pirates and they will leap overboard and try to swim ashore. POST HASTE EVER SEE A TANK FIRE THAT S--T? It goes out about 300 + yards. Yes I think that is the weapon of choice aboard ships for self preservation. Disquise it as a fire nozzle that shoots water and have a 300 gallon tank of liquid fire......(napalm)
I'm going to write the Navy about this....................................................................................................Krispy critters
I think I've solved the problem...What say Fanie, Frosty and you from Homer????? You too Masalai and Boston??????

Razo- ide keep an eye out if I were you . I Think it will be iminent that men in white coats come for you, wrestle you to the floor and inject a sedative into your neck.

A flame thrower on a ship disguised as a fire extinguisher.

PS I wouldnt write to the Navy about it if I were you.

    Hope you get well soon.

Frosty. I never will write the Navy when I've had 4 Rums. But it would put a quick stop to Pirates. " Hey Lass, give me another one of those smokes with no Nicotine"--"I'm starting to feel real smart."

    Pirates - seeing is knowing

I hope your dont have any S. African mates - saffas are SA living in London not the Gulf of Aden. I live in the Middle East, build superyachts here and made three passages thru the GoA region, first two on a 48mt steel schooner, last trip sailing my own 25mt ketch from Italy to Maldives.
My radar Furuno 4' open array 1843 picked up every small boat within 3mile range, tracked and visual confirm. I had two friends crewing retired SS guys. Our strategy stay deep, no sailing lights and small boats on converging course got a demo of us ranging our weaponry.

My point is doing the bla from Aussie or anywere else is just bla if you haven't been there. FYI pirates dont fish they patrol and locals don't bottom fish they ring net or long line and in the sea haze at 1000mts they look all the same.

My advise to any yachtie considering the Suez, go in a flotila or dont go. If you must get a 50c or Winchester 70 and learn to shoot an outboard from a pitching platform at 1000yds...

Hi Mark, maybe those people are different there, but here you cannot trust them. I knew someone who grew up with one of these, then later he built this feller a house, furnished, even a bakkie (truck) to drive around in. He always said it's the only family he has, played with the kids as if they were his own.... He got murdered by this 'feller', just wanted to steal his car which was an old 7 series bmw.

I know this is just one example, but there are so many similar. Cannot trust sorry. They are very unreliable. You have to interact with them to try and understand how they are.

Eh Swabbie ! We have them from everywhere here. They are mostly the same, some are more dirty (as in wash up less) and some even have a sort of pride in them, but they all have a scew trend. Even the 'honest' ones change from day to night the moment they begin to interact with these... Just look at those in gov, they're supposed to be the best of the best, right ?

Btw, there is about 2 000 000 SA's living in the UK. Maybe the UK's name could be changed to accomodate them, it's only fair, don't you think ?
    Maybe USAK or something
    (United South African Kingdom)

Mmmm.... since you don't accept the ethnic groups any more (I wonder why...) it should rather be
    USAKWO
(United South African Kingdom Whites Only)
Or does that sound too racist for you :D

Hi Tug, you darn Canadian (for setting them free :D)

Here in SA the burglars don't worry if they get cought. You can ask them and they admit it openly. Their argument is nothing will happen to them because they will just be released again. No kiddin you.

Those pirates that was let go are back in business 10 seconds after releasing them. They will next time be even more bolder bacause they will have the same attitude, it's just an inconvenience, but nothing will happen to us.

I gotta go with Fannie on this one
as I may have mentioned hang the ******** high and long so all can see em
and maybe blockade the offending countries ports
thing is that the USA is famous for killing non combatants and calling it a worthwhile kill
thats that only sympathy I got for the natives
most of em probably had nothing to do with it
but as in the case of most cowards these people are hiding behind there civilian population
and so its that population that will end up paying the price

    my 2 cents
do with it what you will

    cheers
    B

When you have a commando team aboard, dropped in by helicopter, the attempt to board is all you need to tell the innocents from the guilty. The message will go out quickly, dont try to board, or be considered a threat.
No need to for nukes or high tech. Enfield will do. More selective
Killing innocents and making more enemies won't help anything.
It reminds me of a bumper sticker I once saw. It said "USA Making enemies faster than we can kill them."
Countries like China , Russia, Iran and France will be anything but gentle. I hear the French have many pirates in captivity in Paris at the moment.

Well, I hope that lowered your blood pressure Masalai. I'm about ready to aim my flame thrower at Wall St. too. And hope to hit some elected officials in Washington.

Best to stir up the masses and publish your incriminating data - as the peons need a rude awakening from their status of denial - This manipulation of the markets globally is not good for the USA in the long term, for as soon as the rest of the worlds retards retards in economic leadership, realise the sorry state of the US$, - and - that there is an alternative, (gold is good), then $US will be dumped quicker than an aspiring partner with HIV-AIDS....

To my mind, "elected officials" with a little ambition and less moral fibre, quickly become stooges for the money controllers, as they realise that is where the power and influence is at, - - - until the masses revolt and literally take to the streets in revolt - lets see if this "right to bear arms" has teeth and becomes effective against the greed of the money controllers - or is the NRA their instrument too?

I moved that post to the "Global economic...." thread as being a more appropriate venue... Actually I was quite cool, calm and collected with inspirational prose flowing - too good to miss.... :D:D:D

Has anyone thought of the obvious? sending a very strong worded letter to the UN they would be able to help, ---should be able (Have they got a boat).

They would send out their well trained soldiers and send the pirates packing.

    Hoorah, hoorah, for the UN.

We can all sleep soundly in our beds.--- thanks UN.

The U.N. with their fine record in stopping conflick in Africa would do a bang up job like they did in the Congo. "Lass bring me another smoke with out nicotine", I think Frosty has a wonderful idea.
