Fanie, most peope in he world do not know this fact. South Africe was a nuclear power with missles and bombs and all the necessary lab equiptment to produce fuel for the bombs. About a year before the whites knew they were going to be out of power, They asked the USA to come and get everything. We did and our Navy took everything associated with the word nuclear, loaded it up and took it to the US. The bombs went to the nuclear labs at Oak Knoll, Tennessee where they were disassembled. Thank God the White government had the forsight to do this. We owe them a big thank you. Stan PS I also know that black education has declined under black rule and the standards of living have declined also. It takes centurys to educate an ignorant population.

was an unnecessary stab a stereotypical view of the first family
I may not like the guy ( although I like him a whole lot better than Reorge )

No, not at all. If you read about the Obamas, especially Michelle, you'll discover that they are quite racist. Juan Williams, black, and NPR senior correspondent, called Michelle Obama "Stokely Carmichael in a designer dress". That is the thing on my "don't like 'em" list right under "spend money you don't have" and "drive the corporations to Zug." ( the list is long but those are at the top)
Fanie, you don't understand about this Kroberts fellow. He's from Chicago and it doesn't get more third world than that corrupt ****-hole. It's where they are so uneducated that they bought the pitch of a Marxist radical who was mentored by, worshipped with, endorsed the philosophy of, and been supported by a nexus of black racists, Jew-haters, terrorists, mobsters and Marxists and elected him president because they felt he was going to pay off their credit cards and screw "The Man". It's where Obama learned his trade. It is some sort of portal to a parallel universe, where up is down, wrong is right (the whole rabbit-hole thing, Alice in Wonderland), etc. Hippies, ignorant ******** who would take the diametric opposite of Bush just because they hated his war stance, and the totally messed up voted for Obama...and they don't have many hippies or philosophical opposites in Chicago. That leaves... "the totally messed up." This guy KNOWS third world. (No, I don't work for the Greater Chicago Area Chamber of Commerce)

    Hi Rasorinc,

I remember we had those Nu-ki-leer (Bush) jobbies, there was a time it was fashion to have them.

We are now beginning to reap the rewards of the lowered educational standards. Being involved in the production industry I cannot begin to tell you how frustrating it is. The incompetence... If you want to order an item and the person you talk to has no idea what you're talking about. My son is one of them, in high school STD 8 he couldn't read or write. I kid you not, I thought I exploded. He lives with his mother or I would have drilled it into him day and night.

When entering the faculties the first thing the students are tought is what their human rights are, not how to make a life. They are all extremely arrogant of the opinion when graduated they are going to get nice jobs, big salaries, co cars, medical, pension you name it. Truth is that less than 1% continue in their line of study, being electronics the ones that do sit on an assembly line or some low skill requirement job. You cannot apply them for anything skilled. Sad but true.

One of the strikes the technikon was set on fire not too long ago the reason was not enough funds for booze for their year end party. This is why zooma and his yoof league is such a threat. If he goes in power this place is going to be a f up.

Scientists have been at it for years to find a prevention or cure for aids. Then along comes a young bright african with the name zooma, and discovered the prevention for aids... the SHOWER. This after he aparently ***** an hiv positive female then took a shower to wash the aids off.

Couple of local cartoons. Joked about, but they mirror what is going on here.

Anyway, enough about these friggin pirates.

    Ok back to pirates :D

what Brent says i agree (2$) - i still dont undersatnd how 4 youths got on board

but anyway, what Fanie has unpacked here is 99.99% the truth

and what i can add to that is that all the folks in the harbour arent actually pirates - but they sure as hell are condoning that practise (and probably share in the spoils) - because it comes down to the old story, everybody knows the brothel down the road, but when the **** hits the fan nobody wants to be part of the mess, all of a sudden they are holier than thou. And that is also the story of most of Africa. Gawd knows but it is part of their nature, if you cant eat it burn it, until there is nothing left, when all is gone blame the colonialists english white man. Ultimately Afrika will go back to "nature" because there will be nothing left but poverty and starvation and the rest of the world will ignore and marginalize the Afrikan people and it will become the forgotten continent.

So bottom line - you really want to get rid of the Somali scourge - nuke the ******** - wipe the slate clean for once and for all. You will be VERY surpised of how few "innocents" there actually are amongst that entire bunch. I can tell you now less than 2% is "innocent" they cant help it, it is part of their genetic make-up.

Piracy in any form or shape wil affect ALL OF THE BOATING community. Whether it is stealing an outboard or clubbing a 65 year old to death or hi-jacking an oil tanker - some innocent gets hurt. And whether they come from Somalia or Myanmar - an attack on any vessel must carry the death penalty.

And yes i have also read English history and piracy and all the Europeans stealing from each other BUT we are going into a VASTLY DIFFERENT NEW WORLD ORDER and we will have to protect what we got with everything at or disposal

You guys amaze me with the bla bla bla but have any of you actually sailed there, seen the coast line aound the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and how many innocents on the water are just hand to mouth fisherman. The region is huge the logistics and costs to maintain a police action as big and while our navys are there they aren't in our home waters.
Have your ever dealt with the sparing logistical support to keep a frigate in a gulf with ambient air temps 50c plus, water temps 39c plus for six months let alone 90% deployment readiness on all small boats, weapons systems and crew...
In this case the solution will be far greater than the problem...remember the skinnies and the Blackhawkes im Mogadesh. Same guys, you shoot 10, 20 pop up

Swabbie they are saffas, they live there, WTF? Surely that qualifies as a better informed understanding as one would expect of yours on France or Germany.... and now this thread is regressing to smart-arse amusement comments there is no quick fix... Also Fanie is renown for tongue-in-cheek commentary, as am I often...
the huge area to be covered, at least 20 vessels capable of patroling for a month and rotation/refuelling/resupply to consider - - The area patrolled now lies from a line between Madagascar and Africa, and due North (and a bit East), making a fairly large rectangle....
    - the pirates use 20 odd ft long open boats with outboards and do not have a good "signature" on radar so visual spotting is necessary and if they spot "Navy" they just stop and look like fishermen bottom fishing... which is probably what they do whilst waiting for a "target"... - even pirates gotta eat, and they used to fish, (catching just enough for their current needs - minimum effort for immediate need), until big "western commercial fishing" came and totally fished out all the region...

Put the heavily armed patrols on the merchant ships and let the pirates come to them. They can put them aboard by helicopter after they have left port and pick them up before their next port, no legal problems in ports.

Retired U.S. flagged CG cutter painted Astoria gray, guns mounted. Maersk pays $20,000 per day to escort. Never a shot fired. I see small boats just fine with RADAR. I can tune to see a gull at 200 meters.

    Darn ***** :D

Now there's an idea. Paint one of those on each side of the ship. The pirates would never know if it's real untill they get close enough, then it may be too late for them ;)

What colour is it ? :D

Wel now Mas, I can think of LOTS of reasons that would justify me becomming a bank robber, to name only one thing that suits...
Honestly, if no one ever fished those areas, would they still be fishing ?

Only if there were PLENTY of fish... - as you suggested not starving not interested in working.... "Piracy may be seen as a game, as would bank robbery - you may require a minima of a multimillion yield, these fools seems may be content with a couple of billion Zim$?

I believe in this particular ocean it was big "eastern commercial fishing" aka China ..
