Jack mate (this MAY surprise you) in your case don't take a bloody gun! You DON'T know bugger all about them (your own admission) and all you'd do is blow your bloody foot off!

Get your mate to talk to them - as an accountant he's bore the buggers silly and they'd push off leaving you to your fate! (yes an accountant is probably a good weapon - I know my brothers one and he's a boring gentleman if ever there was one!)

    Luck with the trip, enjoy!

Yeah take an accountant Jack, it'll add up in your favour.

    Nasty accountant joke.

How do get an accountant to run a small business for you?
Give him a big business and you wont wait long.

I don't know if someone has said this already, but you are an ignorant piece of crap! People should have the freedom to go wherever they want, and you are defending pirates and corrupt governments. That is like saying that if I drive through Compton in my minivan I am teasing the local gang of Crips to come and shoot me in a carjacking. As far as I am concerned, any vessel that harasses another vessel in a belligerent or threatening way should be fired upon and sunk, whether they are government or private "pirates".

There is no need to act in such a manner to a post that simply is stating a view (of the speaker) who may or may not be right! Inthe process all you have done is show up your own ignorance! As to the freedom to go whither thou pleases, technically, yes your right but you forget one minor point - the other guy may not see it that way and if he owns a bigger gun then you ain't going that way! That's all there is to it!

Which basically points out that if you want to get anywhere in this world you have to go loaded for bear and expect the worse (especially from those who call others "ignorant pieces of crap" for merely having a point of view)!

Off course most of the time you will not encounter that sort of atittude and people tend to be rather nicer than you depict but, and this is the main point of the augument, what level should you be prepared to accept and how would you prepare for it - other than calling people names!

Oh well here we go again, another teddy out of the pram!

Jeees what a boring trip--Well as far as pirates is concerned --no pirates no anything. I had my camera ready to film a piracy attack for you guys but sorry I dont have anything really.

We were stoped by a Malaysian fishing boat-or tried to but i just went round him as he held up some crabs he wanted to sell us. He imediately dropped them back in the tub in disgust when I shouted no i dont want them.

And there was this high speed boat that approached us from the rear, he didnt do any thing --just waved and passed under our bow. I got a picture of him!!!( Now he frightened me a little)

Oh we did get stoped by 3- 12 years old kids in a RIB with AK 47's. They demanded our passports and ships registration details. Had this not have been the Singapore marine police and we were about 300 yards off Singapore I might have acted differently. We apparantly went the wrong side of a yellow bouy!!!!.

As we had just had an engine failure from dirty filters and was about to be run down by a VLCC I thought it best to get away quickly from the VLCC and shipping lanes disregarding things as marker bouys.

There English was not good enough to understand my explanation and I had entered a restricted zone!!

That Singapore for you. I would have expected that king off stuff of Vietnam.

The good thing is Jack, your nice and Safe - see taking an accountant with you did work!!!

Not even pirates could handle that -These days I would expect to get stopped every couple of yards in Singapore! Now that they are SO safe they have to do something to pass the time! Stopping yotties is after all the safe option - yer boss ain't going to kick up to much about a couple of yotties is he? thing is was the tanker full or empty? if full you'd have no problems (he'd see you but couldn't stop) if in ballast you'd have no problems (he wouldn't see you) NO problem!

    The butcher boys

Oh my.. Jack..those sweet harmless looking young boy..they surrounded me once at Changi Airport because of some very foolish thing I had done. Smiling all the way while interviewing me, allowed me to board after they are happy and satisfied that I'm not a terrorist who is trying to hijack their plane.Later on, some contact in Singapore told me those guys were from the team that had blown and wasted 5 Pakistani who tried to hijack their plane one month earlier. So sweet looking so docile appearances and yet so dangerous..:!:

I stopped a day in Admiral,-- what a lovelly place, we walked out of the marina and turned right and walked on up to the the gas station to buy 40 liters of diesel. Across the road from the gas station and the hospital was a really nice chinese resteraunt. More importantly they sold beer.

Next day I went into town to see the lady indian doctor opposite the Pizza house--across the railway line,---bad guts-- but she fixed em up great.

2 hours later I was drinking beer again,-- fantastic.

Port Dickson is not in any way at all like Klang ughh
