Davit SWL (Safe working Load)

    One additional point of reference

    I presume this is not a SOLAS vessel, but LSA Code requirements for the davit and the ship are for a 4x Factor of Safety, so the Ultimate failure strength of the davit and supporting structure must be at least 4x the expected maximum working load.

    Actually, it is FoS=4.5 on structural parts of the davit and FoS=6.0 on falls, suspension chains, links and blocks.
