Errrr...since no-one else has asked D'Artois old chum, I will...what the hell were you doing walking in the 'woods'...It's a well known fact that there are no woods in the Netherland...they've all been converted to clogs.....

Well, let's tell how it happened: We are living in the middle of the woods that are still left in the center of Holland.
Due to the terrible traffic-jams on the A-1 highway from Apeldoorn to Amsterdam I travel often by train to the office in Haarlem (110 kilometer).
Quite often I walk to the railwaystation and have to cross a very dark stretch of
heavy forest. Through this forest runs a small road, used by hikers and walkers.
Walking that road in the early evening I was hit by an off-roader that made a hit and run and left me with a smashed hipjoint.

    That's the story.

D'artois as the saying goes - when out in the big bad world always carry a big heavy torch (Maglight 6 D cell is ideal) not to light your way but to blind the muppets that try to run you down, and if he does and you manage to stop him ...... well you've probably guess the rest! (seriously the torch is a good idea - when walking down country roads at night just shine it at the ground in front of you, if you hear an engine it don't take long to point a working light! must work I ain't been hit yet! mind you it may be because the locals don't want to be anywhere near me - or looking for a tank to do the job properly!!) It's great to see your back with us and (maybe not yet) ready to rock and roll
