cracked welding at spreader connections

    To be clear...
    Bolted through the local wall... Easy to do if you have a sheave box nearby or access via backing plate removal.
    Google '316 rose joints' and you will see why they could be a good solution for the inboard spreader ends.
    Your new brackets should add material and surface area to distribute loads better...
