Are you looking for a coracle or the slightly larger Irish currach? Both are quite similar and relatively easy to make as small skin on frame boats go. How much easier do you need the build to be?

Well one look, at this little soup bowl like craft and you can see it's made of bent sticks. The traditional method is to split straight branches and cold bend them into position. I suspect this isn't as long lived a method as steaming, but is one way of getting it done. There are a number of styles and methods for their construction. You may be best advised to contact the Coracle Society of Wales.

    coracle plan

I'm a total newbie, and I have not yet built a boat, so I cant speak from personal experience, but if you are looking for a cheap, fast version of a coracle to build, you might want to google Hannu's Boatyard. He has instructions and pics under the "extremely small boat section."

    Regards,

    Michael
