Sir Walter Raleighs colony at Roanoke preceded the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth.
Vikings frequently visited Vinland (Virginia) long before either Columbus or the English even knew their was an america.

    The amerinds were already here.

I am the biological result of various English, Viking, and Amerind peoples. I carry their genes.

    Culturally, I'm red blooded American.
I suppose you object to "red blooded american"? That phrase somehow supposes other humans have 'different' colored blood? LOL

Well if we must go down this --brief road-- you will find you are Arabic and mostly Chinese and probably Roman,--its already been done most people are, except indigenous and you are definitely not that.

The truest American you know will be Boston, your nemisis.

For a while I enjoyed crumb top apple pie. The sugary crumb top is a great contrast to the apples, sweet and tart.

Now my favorite is again like mom always made it when I was growing up with a crust on the top and bottom. Flaky crust is what makes it.

With some ice cream you can't beat warm apple pie. The apple flavor comes out more when it's cold, but either way it's great. I was never a fan of apple crisp - it's ok, not as much texture and richness for me, blander. Rhubarb/apple is better. Rhubarb gives it a different texture and tartness that makes it pop.

Normally I'm totally unimpressed with apple pie. But now and then on a cold pre-dawn morning, when I'm sitting bleary-eyed in a restaurant with a cup of scalding black coffee, I'll order it hot -- with a slice of cheese melted on top.

With ice cream, my favorite is warm shoofly pie. And I'll lay claim to making the best shoofly pie in California....

I think it must be in my genes. My grandmother on my mother's side was from a Pennsylvania Dutch family that somehow wound up in Missouri.

Big piece HOT apple pie, thick wedge of sharp cheddar, and a dark beer. That's a MEAL! :)

Most Americans eat apple pie, therefore its American, using your previous argument:

" ' Really' If most English eat it then its English food."

Rhubarb pie is great. It served us well in Colonial America when the redcoats forced us to house them. Did you know oxalate is concentrated in the leaves?

Oh my god. Thats disgusting but what can you expect from people who put tomato sauce on chips.

Ille bet you put custard on kippers,--heathens

Now I know why Mc Donalds is so popular, quick and extremely high quality food.

Nope Frosty. I like sea salt and malt vinegar on my french fries.

kippers (smoked herring) I like on a french roll with lots of sweet onion. Like Vadallia onion

but I really prefer my herring pickled. Viking style! I can eat a gallon tub of pickled herring by myself. Takes all day, but a GOOD day! :)

    Ketchup is not tomato sauce.

    I love red herring.

SheetWise All Beach -- No Water.

I don't think that's why it's so popular -- but, yes, it is extremely high quality.

It's also the restaurant chain responsible for improving restroom sanitation in your part of the world, and many parts of Europe.
