Yobi lives his entire life in denial, hes fat and he smokes, put him on a tread mill and he will croak it.

Hes probably desperately looking up some obscure web site trying to prove his point.

I lied earlier, my weight on my digital weighing scales in one of the bathrooms on the west wing said 101.2 KG and I am obese.

I should be 85,--I was that a few years ago. At least I can get on my bike without a fag and croak it.

I'm glad you run and have legs of steel. Science is more accurate than over simplified estimators.

This is what your BMI calculator says underneath:
"Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to adult men and women. " It's only an estimator based on ht and wt. I don't need to estimate.

    From the site I urled:

"Standard age-height-weight tables derived from life insurance data often incorrectly indicate individuals to be overweight. "

    "Hydrostatic Weighing
Hydrostatic weighing is a valid, reliable and widely used technique for assessing body composition. It has been labeled the "Gold Standard" or criterion measure of body composition analysis. It is based on Archimedes' principle. This principle states that an object immersed in a fluid loses an amount of weight equivalent to the weight of the fluid which is displaced by the object's volume. This principle is applied to estimate the body volume and body density of individuals. Since fat has a lower density than muscle or bone, fatter individuals will have a lower total body density than leaner individuals."

I have the real measurement. 14.3% body fat, by hydrostatic test.

Most good gyms measure this way. Bet there is a gym near you! Why not check yourself out? The test isn't expensive. About 50$. You may not be as obese as you think you are. You may be able to improve your health by losing some fat. First, find out how FAT are you!
Why not invest a little in YOU. Without your health, all else is lost. :)

    ;)

    Frosty
and all other with opinions about my opinions.

    Don't you understand YET!
What you percieve as denial, is responsibility.
If you want something done right, do it yourself! Self reliance.
I don't accept other peoples theories or opinions without first investigating myself!
Especially where it concerns my health and my wifes health.
I'm not lazy and I don't get my conclusions by blindly accepting the conclusions of others. Or oversimplified chart estimators.
I'm not in denial. I am independent. Skeptical is the opposite of naive. I'm not naive. I'm a "take charge" alpha personality.

Oh, I have an inclined treadmill cardiogram every year. I don't get out of breath running uphill. My heart doesn't overspeed either.
I'm healthy, thankyou for your concern. :D

Looks like Frosty has sidetracked the thread again. I still have him on ignore, but judging by other people's replies to him he's as much an expert on body mass and health as he is on making stock and soup.....

No need to apologize; sucking people into pointless sidetracks is Frosty's specialty. If you posted that the sky is blue, there's a good chance he'd manage to get an argument going about it.....

Yobi your in denial about anything you dont like. You cant look in the mirror and say Im fat --I can, I started this conversation.

By the way --can I borrow your mirror.

You smoke and you think your fit --To be honest with you that is really silly and dangerous. Have you made a wil, your are very high on the list of cardia arrest,--- your a ticking time bomb. If this is a food thread,-- you need to take heed NOW and give up fags NOW. Betcha cant do it!!

Dont worry about what troy says
Hes just a tax paying consumer machine, 9 till 5, probably plays bingo on Thursdays. Mc donals Fridays and washes the dog on Saturday and peaks out of the curtains when a car drives past--you know what I mean.

Im on his ignore list--- I rest my case.

    I LIKE smoking. :)

Dad smoked till he died age 80 from liver cancer. Didn't drink alcohol, just smoked. Liver got em anyway.
Grandpa smoked till died age 93. Kidney failure. Drank like a fish.

Me? Can't remember last time I was sick. Been in hospital a few times when I was 20s-30s. Knife wounds and a gunshot wound. Ain't been sick since I was a kid.

    Yep. I'm unhealthy alright. :)

    congratulations again James

Thanks Yob... I'm trying to convince them to accept and publish a few more recipes. Good publicity for the books to come, I figure.

Here we have, perhaps, the least attractive plate I've yet produced. Tasted great though.

Just a basic dressing of ginger, lemongrass and soy.
