    Hi to all the community!
    I´m a naval architecture student
I wanna start a new project, about a container ship
Do you think it´s ok to take a maxsurf model
    and modified its characteristic'???

It´s really difficult to find ship drawings in my country
    Thanks for the help :D

It is a good idea to do something like that but you must have a model of ship in similar dimension. If you use a much smaller or much larger model you can get a strange shape of hull and you will have a manual correct the shape of hull

Maybe it's a good idea to conduct a google search for what youre trying to design. Search for ships with similar loading requirments and stuff like that.

For my designs I use a several different programs ( its depends what I need)
    freeship/delftship, rhinoceros, maxsurf, solidworks

In maxsurf you have a "hull transformation" when you may have change a couple dimention of shape of hull

The ship from first photo was built in shipyard in my town
