Is there any accreditation for boat builders in Canada? I know for example in Washington state, builders have a three letter manufacturers identification code. To my knowledge, in Canada, there is a Construction Standard for Small Vessels TP1332 (2004) and TP 11717 (1994) Standard for the Construction and Inspection of Small Passenger Vessels. Moreover, a Complience Certificate can be obtained for homebuilt boats to be registered.
Which of these is appropriate for the small builder to build and sell small power boats under 20 Ft. and what are the liabilities?
