Condor 40 Crew Rescued Off US East Coast

Hopefully, we'll get the accurate story on the Gunboat , but now another multihull sailing off the US east coast has had it's crew removed by the Coast Guard. I don't understand how these guys undertake trips like that at this time of year?

PS- there has also just been a rescue of some sailors off a 40'+ monohull that got in trouble off the coast of North Carolina.

The Condor had just been bought so that was the owners first sail in the boat

As others have said - Why in February?? Especially since, unlike the Gunboat, the Condor had a 62ft air draft so could have gone down the IcyW quite safely (assuming it wasn't frozen over of course)
