Dear members of the Boat Design.net forum,
I am pleased to share with you a few views from the latest computer design file of KASTA 1, created by its author, Marine Designer Eng. Svetlozar Neykov from Varna, Bulgaria:
1. KASTA 1-Fore view-09082026;
2. KASTA 1- AFT view-09082026;
3. KASTA 1-Right view-09082026;
4. KASTA 1-Perspective view-09082026.
5. KASTA 1-Left view-09082026
I look forward to hearing the feedback from aviation specialists!

I am pleased to share three more images from the latest file of my colleague from Varna, Marine Designer Eng. Svetlozar Neykov. These will pave the way for the stability and statics calculations—specifically for the longitudinal wind area, and the transverse wind area in two configurations: extended and retracted outriggers:
1. KASTA 1- Right view-26082026;
2. KASTA 1- Front (fore) view-23082026;
3. KASTA 1- Front view with tidy outriggers-23082026.

Comment on the calculation results with Orca3D at Maximum Takeoff Weight MTOW = 1520kg and heel angles from 0 deg to 90 deg, with a Static Stability Diagram from 07.09.2026.
  1. Coordinate system:
  • Coordinate system origin - at the intersection point of three planes - CL (Centerline), BL (Baseline), and the transom plane;
  • Z-axis - from the baseline upwards. Clarification - at the intersection line between the plane coinciding with the transom plane at the stern, and the BL, which passes through the lowest point of the keel in the CL with an even keel (without heel and trim);
  • X-axis - from the stern to the bow. Clarification - Positive direction of increasing dimensions from the intersection point of the Z-axis with BL towards the nose of the aircraft;
  • Y-axis - from CL to port side. Clarification - positive direction from the CL of the aircraft towards the port side;
2. Accompanying trim with increasing heel angle:
  • With an increase in the heel angle from 0 to 12.5 deg, an accompanying trim from 0 to 9.77 deg is obtained, which is within acceptable limits;
  • With an increase in the heel angle from 13 to 90 deg - the accompanying trim is obtained from 10.189 deg to 42.213 deg, which is not pleasant at all!
3.Critical point during heeling:
We can assume the highest nose point in the CL of the fuselage, coinciding with the lower surface of the wing structure.
  • With an even keel, the distance from the critical point to the DWL (Design Waterline) is 426.579mm;
  • With an increase in the heel angle up to 58.5 deg, this distance begins to decrease and reaches 0.198mm;
  • From 59 to 76 deg it reaches a value of (- 0.063) mm;
  • From 76.5 to 90 deg it begins to increase from 0.404mm to 28.942mm.

    4. What follows for the KASTA 1 model (L fuselage = 6.80m):
    *
    Full loading table for the various possible cases, including loading and unloading operations;
    • Calculation of wind areas and center of wind pressure application;
    • Inclining of the aircraft with heel and trim for all loading cases;
    • Stability criteria at large heel angles;
    • Summary stability table with stability coefficient for all loading cases.
