Composite Rowboat

    In that case, you would do well to study history of boatbuilding and design.

    Thank you for the response and I have made some progress with my concept and Line-X approach.

    I had to adjust my desired boat length from 14ft to 12ft to try and hit my desired target weight.

    The only issue now is finding a foam that can provide some degree of stiffness but also has some elasticity.

    If the foam is too solid, impacts result in permanent indents into the foam.

    Maybe some of your suggestions will be the perfect solution.

    But with removable seats the boat will be about 30 percent lighter than a standard 12ft aluminum rowboat.
