Restoring a fish and ski and have been re flaking and clear coating hull but clear gel coat seems to soak up dew every day then dry out, is this normal until it is waxed ? I dried with a heat gun to show what's going on

Did you use waxed gelcoat or Duratec additive ? Otherwise, it did not cure properly.

No but I talked to supplier he told me it will do that until I've sealed it off with wax or duratec final coat

I just have to wait for it to burn off before doing another coat, trying to build up so I never buff through flake

You shouldn't let it get wet until after the final coat with whatever additive you plan to use.

Absorbing water and turning cloudy or milky is normal for an uncured surface.
