Gday guys, new to the forum. Im trying to find all information on the Cirrostratus designs from Rob Chamberlain. How many were made? Are there still many still in Australia? After anyone who as good information about the history of "cirro" or any others that were made . All information is helpfull.
I recently brought "cirro" which is the first of the molds. It's sitting in tincan bay at the moment. Im taking it out of the water for a solid make over next month.
I am aware that this one got hit by the whale so it doesn't have the original skeg and rudder. It has a a rudder casing on the transom and a semi kick up rudder.
Im trying to find any people that specialize in rudders. Eg water flow and steering systems. And to get more heads around to help achieve what im trying to achieve.
The goal of the slip is to clean up the bottom and minimize any un needed seacocks. But the part i need help.with is trying to design something balanced and to have duel helms. My plans to achieve this is to run the system in dyneem and add a Quadrant either side of rudder casing higher but inline with the pins.
Another idea was to have the emergency tiller hooked into the rudder casing and have the dyneema duel helm steering connect to the tiller via friction rigs. This would allow me to not modify too much on the casing and could still have a auto pilot unit connect to the one sided Quadrant that is already there.
Although ideally id like to get rid of how its running at the moment with the penetration coming through close to the water line and through the bottom step..
