    :D

Is it the one visible in your gallery? I have left a comment on one of your latest pics, interesting but rather odd design... ;)

    Coolmike,

How many airbags would be need to launch a 100' boat that weights 100,000 lbs? How much do these bags cost and can they be rented?

    thanks

Hi Coolmike, the yacht project was based on traditional Dhow hull, very deep (sheer to keel) big beam with almost full beam flat bottom but tricky bit was 900 deep full length keel.
To help overcome the gradient I excavated back under the hull 1/3 length to help reduce pitch angle. Biggest concern was stopping the hull from toppling on her beam end and or breaking her back when going over the highest point - thats the ulcer making moment.

Dear Mydauphin, 5 or 6 pieces air bags will be ok for launching, I have no idea of the breadth of your boat so can not offer the exact price. Estimated 5 pieces will cost you more than 10,000 USD. There is no formal airbag renting service in USA.We have some clients in USA, Titan salvage, Resolve marine, etc. Don't know if they would like to rent bags.

Watchkeeper, you did a good job. Yacht launch with air bags sometimes need to do some accessorial support for keel. Just like people transport yacht with SPMTs.
