charging system on a 1999 25hp johnson

    The motor number is--J25 RLEEB
    I don't have much idea about the system,but there are 3 wires that are capped off on the engine.They come from under the flywheel/magneto.
    Would these be the wires required to enable the motor to charge a battery?

    You need to look up the manufacturers specifications for that motor and compare them to specs for a motor that is built to charge a battery.
    It takes more than current to properly charge a battery!

    Ok,thanks.I thought with the year being 1999,it might be readily equipped.

    yes 2 cyl small engines had a 3phase alternator.
    Just buy the correct rectifier and you will have a charge system, 4 amp I think it was
