change petrol inboard to diesel inboard

    hi i have a volvo b20 inboard (2ltr petrol) with a volvo 270 outdrive, i would like to know if there is a small diesel engine out there that i could swap over and marry up to the 270 outdrive, many thanks

    Volvo has a tiny diesel throwaway , good for 2000 hours D3 comes to mind.

    Mercedes has a 2.3L 4 cyl and a 2.6 L engine in the 190e's of the 90's that might work. They are quite cheap and plentiful in the states, not sure about over there tho.

    Lancing Marine offers all kinds of diesel engines as direct replacement for Volvo/Mercruiser gasoline engines. You can also just order the correct bell housing and engine coupler if you want to marinize a car engine yourself.
