CFD state of the art

Myles replied as folllows:

"Some of the CFD participants reported their results from locations other than the dynamometer center as requested in the Project Prospectus. Rodrigo submitted corrected heave values for Star-CCM in order for the results to be compared in the same frame of reference."

As Uli explains, this could hardly be the explanation, but maybe we should just accept that the results in the Final report pdf are valid ones, not the ones in the individual excel files.

Hi, sorry for bumping up this old thread.
I'm trying to validate my OpenFoam workflow against the SYRF wide-light.

Unfortunately many of the document links in the final report
(page 5 of https://sailyachtresearch.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Wide-LightFinalReport.pdf )
are dead by now, or giving an ask-for-access notice that nobody responds to.

Would anyone be able to dig up the towing point position, which was supposed to figure in the "Project Prospectus" ? (i'm mostly fishing for the exact height)

Maybe this file helps.

Thank you so much Uli, that was the missing piece!
I'll be back to my openFoam validation atempts soon, hopefully sharing a reference case and results one of these days, at least for the upright condition.
