center rudder on catamaran

    it appears this cat has a center rudder.
    what are some of the pros/cons of this design?
    performance wise, saftey, etc.?

    Pro: cheap, simple, nothing in the way of it kicking up

    Con: turning arm likely to be less for reasons having to do with directions of forces, might not track as well downwind, might ventilate more easily, might loose area if you "fly a hull," will definately catch weeds.

    Thanks. Looks like a setup few would find desireable, even if less complex and easier to access.
