catamarans vertical clearance

    There are other factors than just height of clearance. If the bridge deck begins well aft, you can get away with less clearance supposedly. Some designers have installed wave breaking center bodies with streamline bows to get standing headroom in small areas, Notably Richard Woods Gypsy and Romany. Done properly these are said not to pound. They are of course well aft. Prout did the same thing, but as far as I'm concerned the bridge deck goes way too far forward, and is too low anyway. Breaking the central wave should make a significant difference.
