    Mario,

You are wrong, and off by a lot. I don't know if it's because you don't know anything about boats, about boats this size, or are just hugely optimistic.

I couldn't find outfitting numbers for idelwild, but she is listed for sale at $450,000. This for a well used boat that has a lot of hours on her systems. I would guess she cost more like $600,000 to build from scratch. Dashew's FPB 64' is around $2,000,000 new, though she is a much better design, and significantly larger, and her systems are massively overbuilt compared to most ships of her size.

I am not trying to insult you, but the major systems you have outlined might be possible for $200,000 (I doubt it, but whatever). But you are forgetting all the additional systems that are necessary, and the cost of outfitting. A boat of this size/type can easily have $10,000 in ground tackle, $5,000 in the dinghy system, AC and generator easily $20,000, how about $5-10,000 in copper wire, the same in plumping systems, and again for fuel tanks. I have never priced it, but $5,000 in stainless nuts and bolts wouldn't surprise me. Idelwild probably has $50,000 in woodwork alone.

A boat like this could very easily have $3-4,000 in batteries. You are just missing way to much stuff off of your list.

    She's $100k LESS here
    http://www.virtual-tours.com/idlewild-expedition-yacht
and still no takers, what does that tell you about the price?

If built in Australia with our high wages and paying up to 100% more for parts you would probably be correct

    Not really a fair comparison

It could, It could also cost considerably less
I recently bought a brand new 125lb Manson Supreme for $580 on ebay :D
I bought 100m of new Australian made Grade L from the manufacturer for just under $1000
I bought a 3 mth old Maxwell windlass (says Maxwell off of the serial number) with all the extras to suit the above for just under $1000 on ebay.

    I saved $7420 straight up.

or 10ft ply with oars for $150 in material and a weekend.
    Non essential
Ever heard of 2kva Honda for $18000 less

I wont even go there, I think I have proved my point well enough above but think internal ally tanks as part of the structure, same possible for water with additional plastic tanks with integral taps for drinking and a sink with a 25 litre water container with tap next to it for washing up.
All costing considerably less than your estimate and while not pretty it is functional

If they had it done in the right yard in Asia or other cheap labour countries it would be closer to $10k and probably less and anyway, who needs it. The OP may be happy with a work boat look.

It could have lots of things, most of them not necessary to get it in the water and working as a basic vessel.

Ah, I didnt realise you were doing this as a commercial venture paying for labour all the way.
My one off examples of what can be sourced above wont be of much use for you.

Maybe thats all he is after?
A work boat does actually work after all, not pretty, not luxurious but it is functional and may well be on or close to budget.

    Saba,

I pulled the price from the boats website, it looks like it haven't been updated since a price change.

Honestly I could scavange all the parts for a boat pretty cheap given enough time, and desire to save money at every turn, but for a commercial build no one would accept delivery on used/scavanged parts. Certainly I don't think my prices are great, since I used full retail for them, but they are indicative of what something should be budgeted for until lower prices are found.

The OP indicated he wanted a yacht finish, but perhaps not all the yacht like systems. If this is for sale, they have to all at least be options though, even if the boat could be sold without them.

The boat listed is not quite 11m, not even close in terms of size or complexity. Though the engines are much larger, the 450's are optional. Probably ok for a patrol boat, but a bit overkill if you have to pay the fuel bill. Though with only 900 gallons of diesel it better not get far from a gas dock. Even given the smaller size, the boat weighs in at 5.6 tonnes, which is a pretty substantial portion of the OP's design weight (which I think is under weight btw).

    Mario,
I may be wrong, but at least in the US when a government entity is buying boats they normally don't have to pay sales tax on it. You might want to confirm that price does include it.

    Sorry but

I am not sure you are right when you wrotte that .
We built boat for exemple :
betwen 1991/93 a motor sailor 60' overall ,stell , round bilged, with center board, twin Prkins 4236,Aquadrive,ketch Sparcarft mast, Harken deck equipement etc for a total price of 190000 usd (all incuded even our air ticket ) and I thinking the boat is fit for the sea because after pass14 year abandoned on the mooring by is second owner she do a good jouney from Hong Kong to France via South Africa (in winter seasons ...)
In 2001 we built our actual boat for ,says 25% of the actual cost of an Dashew 64', and she is abble to do the same job at sea than this expensive boat.
And at contrario we are thinking : more simple is the boat more she is able to stay at sea...
Last week we got cotation for precut aloy plate 6,10 euros per KG , even in Europe you can find cheaper manpower cost than in Croatia.
Or you can do it yourself.
