    greg simpson all steamed up

    just a thought:

perhaps people could submit their own designs on the forum, openly letting themselves in for constructive criticism, and at the same time letting people who arent boat designers or who dont have the necessary skills have the inspiration from the designs and advice from people 'in the know' to temper their perhaps far-fetched or their 'dream designs' with common, practical and theoretical sense of the said people with the knowlegde, remembering that a little knowlegde can be more dangerous than no knowlegde at all.
    just a thought!...

Well said 'Sails', I was under the impression that was what this forum was about? Still what do I know I'm only a dumb Limey?

Come on Greg mate don't go shooting us Brits in the foot that sort of statement is only for the "Septic Tanks" :D we then have fun extracting the wee wee; until you come along and join the opposition:mad:

Sarcasm we don't do sarcasm here - often!

walrus - In case you were wondering (you were, weren't you?) Greg didn't shoot you in the foot, as they don't allow you folks to own guns. :) He probably just stamped on your toes, REALLY hard.
Let up a bit on us Seppos - we're not all bad. I actually grew up in England (moved there at 5, came "home" at 30) and feel more Brit than Yank still. I'm in that embarrassing stage where the locals are convinced I'm a Brit, while the Brits know I'm a Yank. Frikkin' midAtlantic accents are a bore....

OK OK so we don't get to play with real guns (In case we remove the odd politician, and some of them really are odd over here)

Mid Atlantic accent - bit awkward that? I mean everytime you open your mouth it fills with water! And no your not all bad, in my time I've met some bloody good ones! I rather have some of you people in the trench alongside of me in a fire fight than a lot of our own! Don't stop me taking the piss tho' But it ain't nasty wee wee, all in good fun, buddy honest (can't say to much that 'retread' Scots Australian may be looking! now there's a mixture!);)

Get two people to agree on one thing of any topic?? ROFLMAO!!!!!The only consensous that will and can be formed from a meeting of the minds, or lack of in some cases, ;) in boat related issues, is how to acheive a certain design. This is only obtained by trial and error ,that in almost all cases are gained by failures of the past. Crunching numbers, may work in the minds of the engineers. But its those seasoned workers that actually fixes those engineer hypotheticals and makes a lot of engineers look good. :D
