Can butter be a release agent for epoxy?

I want to glass the inside of a plywood mast partner, using epoxy resin. I want the inside to be quite smooth. I thought I could inflate a balloon to press the glass to the inside of the partner and get a smooth surface, but I expect the rubber would stick to epoxy. I don't see how I could use wax as a release agent, because I don't think it would expand with the balloon. Then I thought of butter. At room temperature, it should be soft enough. Is it likely to work as a release agent? Would it interfere with the epoxy setting?

    Butter would work.
    So would wax.
    So would no release agent.
The epoxy won't stick to the balloon.

Butter might attract termites or other things that might like to live in that cavity.

I worked as the mold builder for an architectural concrete company in Sarasota. I coated the molds with epoxy resin and they used vegetable oil to release the concrete from the molds.
