I have just bought this boat a 1989 Tecnomar 50 Off shore Bruno Benetti. A collaboration between Bruno Benetti and Cougar of the UK which designed the hull. The surface drives are I think custom to this boat but not sure.
Does anyone have any more knowledge of who designed the propulsion system and who might have made the propellers?
Any history would be really appreciated. Many thanks

Most welcome! Hope it was some help.
Arneson also does a fixed/trimmable drive. Might ask Rik on this forum or offshoreonly dot com.

I think this is a modified Levi Drive.

Not Flexidrive sorry! They might be a Viareggio built one off design or an Atzori Stain...but probably pretty simple stuff that you can get checked and repaired by any good marine engineering firm. I expect cutlass rubber bearing in the stern tube and no thrust bearing. Rudder activates by a single hydraulic ram inside the body, or a tiller system with rods...check only with care all welds and corrosion issues...
