    - totally agree, anything to avoid wasting energy get organized to do something. I blame those with tidy workshops, an offense against the Will of the Universe as encapsulated in the divine laws of Entropy and Murphy. After years of benign neglect, my workshop has attained the perfect balance whereby it neither gets tidier nor messier whether I work in it or not. Things that are lost in it are meant to be so, and show up at arbitrary intervals in their own good time. The key is to determine how many of each item can get lost, and have one more of that item just before you need it. It's just a question of organization. Oops . . .

BTW I have been reluctant to post images of my work until now; where can I get a copy of Shop Vac Video Cleaner?

yes, the duplication of THINGS to allow proper discovery is a key to fighting the effect.

I bought 24 3mm bolts the other day, so now if there are none in the packet, I know there will be at least 4 on the floor, 6 in the toolbox, 6 or 7 on the workbench, - the rest ? who knows !

Bolts ? How about washers...or those expensive crimp on electrical connections ? easily a two to one " god dammit " ratio.
Or the mother of all frustration...the plastic nose fittings for a tube of caulking.

You will need at least a handful per tube..perhaps more. Better buy a whole box full

The issue with missing plastic goo snouts is so seriuos that the shipyard chandlery keeps the box of extras under lock and key.

If an additional snout is needed , a form must be filed explaning how you lost your snout and what precautions you will use in future to prevent snout loss.

.... and don't get me started on Epoxy - as soon as you open the cap, the stuff dissapears almost instantly.

You might mix a few 100 ml for a small job, and two days later - empty !!!

This is a serious case of quantum entanglement - the epoxy molecules migrate back to the factory that mixed the stuff via 6th dimensional wormholes .

Surely there can be nothing serious about quantum entanglement? Because the particles arrive before they left, mathematically they're going the wrong way, so there should be more, not less epoxy. This explains the vast amounts of it on the floor of my workshop despite the fact I only bought a quart and haven't opened it yet . . .

When you reach for a flat screwdriver you always retrieve a philips.

When you squeeze the tube of superglue...its already gone hard two weeks ago

When you layout a 25 meter extension cord on the job site, its always one meter too short

These are the rules..they must be obeyed
