... Isn't it funny the vessels you and I build for a living compared to what we'll mess with for a hobby?.....
Indeed... my last, was a small home build 6m grp fishing boat with a small Seagull 2Hp outboard that was as simple as simple could be!

I think this warrants a photo or two please...... and I don't think this could be considered as thread drift, as a 6 metre fishing boat is similar in many ways to a skiff.
And only 2 hp...... but I am sure that the Seagull pushed her along very nicely. Whereas a typical 2 hp Yamaha today would probably be struggling......
John has "special thread drift privileges" in any of my threads. We've done some great boats together over the last 30+ years. ;-)I think this warrants a photo or two please...... and I don't think this could be considered as thread drift, as a 6 metre fishing boat is similar in many ways to a skiff.

Shew..that's a fair list covering a lot of years. I'll let John field this one if he wants to...I'm getting ready to board a flight back to MD. Been out on the west coast, sea trialing yet another advanced craft.Cue my next question (and more accusations of thread drift) - could you tell us more please about these vessels that you two have collaborated on?
Ok, this question might warrant a new thread......![]()

I've spent a lot of time working with Carderock folks over the last 35 years or so...a lot of that time in one of the several model test facilities. That reminds me of my first lobster skiff, and it sounds like a couple of you guys are who I should be talking to about some of my more radical boat design ideas that i have had over the years, as several would certainly fit in the SES catagory. Years ago someone at the Carderrock, MD. NSWC was interested in a CAB / WIG vessel design I had come up with. (sadly I never had the time, money, or resources to have someone build a test model, for him to tank test it).
