Brushless direct drive outboard?

    Hello Sigurd,
    I noticed that Cyclon make water cooled outrunners.

    From what I can see all they have done is stick a water jacket on the mount.
    I emailed them about their 1200 model which can produce 2400w max but they have stopped making it. They still make the 1600w model though.
    I've heard that they still have cooling issues. To bad the RPM are too high for direct drive.
    As a point of interest a mob in China have an interesting project going with an electric surfboard. Check out http://www.justwin.com.tw
    It has a 3hp 48v brushless motor, 30min cruising time at top speed, max speed of 20km/h. Battery:lithium 24V.20Ah × 2 & weighs 39kg.
    The Gaupner RC jetdrive has a belt reduction drive. See the picture below.
